This Mega Man X ReGenesis wiki connects every major piece of the campaign: all eight Maverick stages, boss weaknesses, Special Weapons, armor upgrades, Heart upgrades, E-Tanks, data chips, Hadouken requirements, boss damage values, and 27 achievements. Use it as a spoiler-light lookup table or as the factual foundation for a full completion route.
Eight Mavericks
Mega Man X ReGenesis bosses, weapons, weaknesses, and stages
Every Maverick awards a Special Weapon, and every Maverick has a specific weakness. The important twist is that Mega Man X ReGenesis does not form one continuous eight-boss chain. Instead, the weapon relationships form two independent four-boss loops. A first playthrough therefore needs at least two X-Buster victories: one to enter the Jolt Seeker loop and one to enter the Comet Splitter loop. The table below is the fastest complete answer to searches for Mega Man X ReGenesis boss weaknesses or weapon order.
| Stage | Maverick boss | Boss weakness | Special Weapon earned | Stage upgrade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Turbine Facility | Skyblade Squirrel | Comet Splitter | Wind Torrent | Arm Upgrade |
| Desert Data Center | Subterra Scorpion | Wind Torrent | Sand Spreader | Helmet Upgrade |
| Geothermal Power Plant | Arson Vulpine | Hydro Breaker | Flare Burst | Buster Upgrade |
| Frozen Ruins | Tundrion Bear | Sand Spreader | Cryo Shard | Chest Upgrade |
| Orbital Research Station | Stellar Primate | Cryo Shard | Comet Splitter | Core Upgrade |
| Biomechanical Preserve | Bog Snapper | Flare Burst | Boulder Bouncer | Buster Upgrade II |
| Forest Railway | Rail Raccoon | Boulder Bouncer | Jolt Seeker | Leg Upgrade |
| Waterfall Caves | Hydro Axolotl | Jolt Seeker | Hydro Breaker | Leg Upgrade II |
Jolt Seeker weakness loop
Rail Raccoon awards Jolt Seeker. Jolt Seeker is Hydro Axolotl's weakness; Hydro Axolotl awards Hydro Breaker; Hydro Breaker is Arson Vulpine's weakness; Arson Vulpine awards Flare Burst; Flare Burst is Bog Snapper's weakness; Bog Snapper awards Boulder Bouncer; and Boulder Bouncer closes the loop by exploiting Rail Raccoon's weakness.
Comet Splitter weakness loop
Stellar Primate awards Comet Splitter. Comet Splitter is Skyblade Squirrel's weakness; Skyblade Squirrel awards Wind Torrent; Wind Torrent is Subterra Scorpion's weakness; Subterra Scorpion awards Sand Spreader; Sand Spreader is Tundrion Bear's weakness; Tundrion Bear awards Cryo Shard; and Cryo Shard closes the loop against Stellar Primate.

Armor system
All eight Mega Man X ReGenesis armor upgrades explained
ReGenesis expands X through eight upgrades rather than a single four-piece armor set. Each Maverick stage contributes one ability. The upgrades cover melee attacks, aerial movement, Special Weapon charging, buster power, defensive recovery, and shot cadence. That creates meaningful route choices: a player focused on survival may value the Frozen Ruins chest upgrade early, while a player focused on stage traversal will usually prioritize Forest Railway's midair jump and Waterfall Caves' air dash.

Boss: Rail RaccoonWaterfall Caves
Leg Upgrade II
Adds an air dash for horizontal mobility and recovery.
Boss: Hydro AxolotlThe upward punch and downward kick are not simple stat upgrades: they add directional attacks that can alter how X interacts with enemies and stage spaces. The two leg upgrades are broader traversal tools. The Desert Data Center helmet enables charged versions of Special Weapons, making it a major combat multiplier after several bosses are defeated. The Geothermal Power Plant and Biomechanical Preserve buster upgrades improve charged-shot ceiling and firing rhythm. Frozen Ruins provides the most direct defensive package by shortening recovery, preventing knockback, and reducing damage.
Upgrade purchase cost is tied to difficulty in the package logic. Standard and Easy use fifteen chips per upgrade, while Veteran uses twenty. Because every Maverick stage contains twenty chips, a careful player can fund upgrades steadily rather than waiting for the endgame. Exact capsule approaches and ability-gated routes are best treated as stage walkthrough material; this reference focuses on the verified stage-to-upgrade mapping and effect.
Completion checklist
Heart upgrades, E-Tanks, data chips, and 100% totals
There are eight Heart upgrades, one in every Maverick stage. Collecting all eight raises X to the full 32 HP state used by the Hadouken activation check. The four E-Tanks are distributed across Turbine Facility, Frozen Ruins, Orbital Research Station, and Waterfall Caves. These storage tanks matter for normal survival, but all four are also part of the hidden-technique requirement.
The game contains 160 data chips: exactly twenty in each of the eight Maverick stages. This clean distribution makes stage-by-stage tracking practical. If your total is short, compare each stage's chip counter instead of searching the entire campaign blindly. Chips fund the eight upgrades, and collecting every chip unlocks the Data Hoarder achievement. For Hadouken, spending chips does not erase completion credit; the relevant collection state tracks the full set.
A useful 100% checklist is therefore: defeat all eight Mavericks and obtain all eight Special Weapons; collect twenty chips in every Maverick stage; buy or acquire all eight armor upgrades; find one Heart upgrade in every Maverick stage; find the four E-Tanks; finish the required fortress progress; and return to the Hadouken capsule condition with a complete file. Separate achievement runs such as Purist or Invincible may conflict with a fully upgraded route, so plan them as dedicated clears rather than forcing every goal into one save.
Combat values
Boss health, weapon damage, and weakness multipliers
Version 1.00.51 package logic sets bosses to 64 HP on Standard/Hunter and Veteran, while Easy uses 32 HP. Veteran does not merely inflate health; it reduces the damage X deals with normal attacks, Special Weapons, and weaknesses. That makes weak-point knowledge valuable without turning it into an instant win. On Standard, an uncharged weakness deals 6 damage and a charged weakness deals 8. On Veteran those values are 3 and 4.
| Attack | Standard / Hunter | Veteran | Easy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard buster shot | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| Charge levels 1 / 2 / 3 | 3 / 4 / 5 | 2 / 3 / 4 | 3 / 4 / 5 |
| Standard Special Weapon | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| Charged Special Weapon | 3 | 2 | 3 |
| Boss weakness | 6 | 3 | 6 |
| Charged boss weakness | 8 | 4 | 10 |
| Hadouken | 64 | 64 | 64 |
A standard Special Weapon deals 2 damage on Standard and Easy but 1 on Veteran. Charged Special Weapons deal 3, 2, and 3 respectively. The standard X-Buster shot follows the same 2/1/2 pattern, while its charge levels rise through 3, 4, and 5 on Standard and Easy, or 2, 3, and 4 on Veteran. A dash buster doubles the standard shot in the boss base logic. These numbers explain why simply equipping any boss weapon is not enough: the correct weakness produces the meaningful jump.
The table reports static values, not a frame-perfect damage simulator. Boss invulnerability windows, attack contact, projectile behavior, arena patterns, and version-specific fixes can change the practical time to kill. Use the values to understand relative power and difficulty scaling, then learn the actual boss pattern.
Hidden technique
Mega Man X ReGenesis Hadouken requirements and input
Unlock requirements
- Collect all eight armor upgrades.
- Collect all eight Heart upgrades.
- Collect all four E-Tanks.
- Collect all 160 data chips.
- Reach the capsule condition in Sigma Fortress 1.
Package logic checks at least three qualifying counts on the Hadouken platform. Community descriptions often turn that into a repeat-visit recipe, but the exact sequence remains marked for runtime confirmation.
How to perform Hadouken
- Have full health: 32 HP.
- Select the standard X-Buster weapon.
- Stand on the ground; do not jump or dash.
- Enter quarter-circle forward, then press shoot.
- Complete the motion within the 800 ms input window.
The base boss damage value is 64, enough to match full Standard/Veteran boss health when the shot connects under normal logic.
